Solo exhibition February 2019 SE!, Aarhus, Denmark
At the exhibition The Moon over Misanthropolis, Aske A. Hvidtfeldt exhibits new paintings which, in a dialectical arc, describe today’s death, the moon’s flight across the sky and tomorrow’s chemical rebirth. Inspired by Dmitri Shostakovich’s controversial Symphony no. 7, with its angular, geometric, smooth and colorful expression, Hvidtfeldt evokes a creeping uneasiness that creeps in almost unnoticed and surrounds the works.
